Today I created my own internet site within 5 minutes using a new technology and a new site calle about.me.
The site enables anyone to easly create a personal site with no need to type even one line of code.
The site takes you step by step to build you site and design it the way you want.
The first thing you have to do when you go to the site is enter an email address and a password.
Once you have done that then you have to pick the URL for your site. All the URL's start with:http://about.me/ then you add whatever you want to create your own personal URL to your site.
The Site I Created
One you pass this step the site takes you through the design process. The first step is to pick a background image and to write some things that will appear on your home page.
The second step is to add some more personal information that will be displayed on your site. At this stage you can also edit the things that you wrote in the previous step.
The third step is to pick the colors that you want for your site. You can change the colors of the text and of the header.
The fourth step is to choose the fonts that you want for the site.
the fifth and final (and most important) step is connecting your new site to all your other sites. about.me allows you to add various services to your new site such as:
1. Facebook
2. Twitter
3. Flickr
4. Linked In
5. Blogger
6. And More
It is important to note that if you add services it takes at least an hour to upload the information to the new site.
One of the coolest things that the site offers is the "Dashboard". The dashboard allows you to see statistics about your site. Statistics such as:
1. Number of views
2. Time spent at your site
3. Clicks from your site to other sites
4. Links to your site
I think that this is a great tool for creating a personal web site quickly and easily.
Having a personal web site looks really good on a Job Resume and also is a great hobby.
This site (about.me) is an easy way to share information with lots of people in a fun and interesting way. The fact that any person can create their own web site with in a few minutes and for FREE is an amazing step forward for information and knowledge sharing.

My New Phone - HTC Desire HD
On my last post i talked about getting a new phone and getting rid of my iPhone 3gs.
So i am happy to say that i will be receiving my new HTC Desire HD in 4 days. I can not put to words how happy i am. The phone is amazing and best of all...it is not an iPhone. No more iTunes or having to convert every movie or show in order to watch it on the stupid iPhone.
So lets see exactly what the new HTC Desire HD is:
First the technical aspect:
Wieght - 164 grams (5.78 ounces) with battery
HTC Desire HD Features
Because the phone comes with the open source operating system by Google it means that every comapany or person can make unique changes to the OS.
HTC added on top of the OS something called "HTC Sense". This added layer of software makes the phone run better and provide a better user experience. When friend call it can show there Facebook status and other information from facebook before you answer the call so that you can know for example of they have a birthday today.
One of the main diffrences between the HTC and iPhone is the "closed garden" attitude that Apple has. There is no way to open the iphone in order to add more memory or even replace the battery when it starts to get old (which is does very fast). The option to take out the battery is very important especially with smart phones because even the best get stuck sometimes. My iPhone gets stuck a lot and the most logical thing to do is take out the battery in order to restart the system. There is no way to do that with the iPhone and got stuck many times because of that.
So in the coming blogs i will write about my experiences with the new phone and the main differences between the HTC Desire HD and the iPhone.

- Android™ 2.2 (Froyo) with HTC Sense™ - This makes all the difference
- Internal phone storage: 1.5 GB - That seems like not a lot but get this... You can add more memory because there is a micro SD slot!!!!!
- 8 megapixel color camera
- 3G
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- A long lasting battery.

The iPhone FAD - My first iPhone
It all started a few years ago (in 2007) when the first iphone was delivered.
This first version of the iPhone will be later called "iPhone 2G" because of the fact that the next generation of iPhone had 3G connection.
I remember when that first iPhone came out how excited i was. I remember trying to find a way to get one (they were not selling them in Israel. I saved up some around 1000 Sehkels and started looking on ebay for used iphones. I had to buy a used one with some small dents becuase that was all i could afford.
I waited for 3 weeks until the iPhone arrived and it was a great day. I could not put it down for hours. I sighned up for every forum about iPhones that i could find. I became an iPhone expert. I knew what a baseband was. I knew the differnece between "jailbreak" and "modem un-lock". i knew what "cydia" was and how to download and install games and applications for free.
Since then i have bought around 10 iPhones (mostly for friends and family) and currently have an iPhone 3GS.
But what i have realized in the last couple of weeks is that i dont want to be a part of the iPhone revouloution anymore. I find myself walking down the street at my work (Comverse) or at the University and all i can see is iPhones.
It makes me sick. Every 12 yearold girl or every bar manger has an iPhone. I know that if i go up to one of them and ask them what "Cydia" is they will look at me as if i have just cursed them out.
It upsets me that this once great and exclusive phone has become the new Nokia 5110 (the one where you could change the panels).
There is no challenge in it anymore. You go to Orange or Cellcom or Pelephone and get an iPhone that you dont even need to jailbreak.
So for this and a few other reasons (iTunes being the major one) i have decide to buy a new smartphone that is not an iPhone.
In the next post of this blog i will update you with the name of the new phone that i have decided to buy.
P.S. - If anyone is interested in buying my iPhone send me an e-mail.
